Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev held a meeting with Arndt Schoenemann, CEO of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, the German air navigation service provider.
The two discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation between BULATSA and DFS. Emphasis was placed on common challenges facing European aviation, more efficient use of airspace, increased capacity and operational efficiency.
"Bulgaria has a strategic geographical location and must be an active participant in the processes of modernization of the European airspace. Our goal is to use this advantage and develop the country's capacity as an important part of the European transport network, "Minister Georgi Peev said.
During the meeting, the introduction of new technologies in air traffic management, the exchange of expertise, good practices between the two organizations and the possibilities for specific joint initiatives were also discussed.
"The development of air navigation services is key to the safety, efficiency and sustainability of air transport. That is why it is important for Bulgaria to actively participate in the European dialogue and in the processes that will determine the future of airspace," Minister Peev added.
Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue and work on specific initiatives to deepen cooperation in the field of air navigation services.
