Georgi Peev: We are preparing a map of strategic infrastructure projects

We are preparing a map of strategic infrastructure projects that are priorities for the country. The Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev said at a meeting with the leadership of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber.

“Our goal is to introduce long-term planning with clear deadlines and visible results,” Minister Peev emphasized. He stated that a budget should be in the form of policies, as well as a clearer methodology for indexations, which should have the same application of the rules for all participants in the sector.

Minister Peev pointed out that public-private partnership is a tool that can be very useful in the implementation of infrastructure projects when applied correctly, transparently and with clear guarantees for the public interest.

“Our focus is on improving management, financial sustainability and the quality of services. Our goal is for the enterprises within the system to work transparently and efficiently, and for the legislative framework to support this process,” Minister Peev noted.

“It is important for me to maintain an active and constructive dialogue with industry organizations, because they are directly involved in the implementation of projects and have valuable practical expertise,” Georgi Peev said.
