The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Hristo Alexiev ordered the organization of a working meeting for discussing issues related to the bus transport.
During the meeting will be discussed the amendments of Ordinance No 2 on the conditions and order for establishment of transport schemes and for performance of public transport of passengers by buses under which the municipalities assign the transport on bus lines after a conducted procedure under the Concessions Act and the Public Procurement Act and as per Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007. Under a proposal of Minister Alexiev there will be considered the possibilities for unification of the criteria of the municipalities for selection of operators, which to perform transport on the bus lines.
For participation in the meeting will be invited representatives from the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria and from the bus operators.
Minister Alexiev ordered strengthening the control within the performance of bus transport in the whole country.
