Minister Georgi Peev ordered an immediate investigation following the serious accident on the Hemus Motorway

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Georgi Peev, ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the serious traffic accident involving a truck and a bus that occurred early this morning on the Hemus Motorway in the direction of Sofia. Teams from the Executive Agency "Automobile Administration" (EAAA) were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident to assist the authorities of the Ministry of Interior and conduct an on-site investigation.

The accident occurred early this morning on the Hemus Motorway in the direction of the entrance to Sofia between a truck belonging to the company Steli Mega Metali and a bus owned by Union Ivkoni, operated by GROUP PLUS Ltd. The bus was traveling along the Dobrich-Sofia route.

Initial data indicate that both drivers are licensed and hold valid qualification cards. The vehicles had passed the mandatory periodic technical inspections, and the carriers hold valid licenses. It was determined that the financial stability of Steli Mega Metali had expired; further details will be established during the inspection at the company.
