Minister Ismailov: Vasil Levski Airport Sofia is operating at full capacity and with no change in schedule

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, convened an operational meeting with the participation of key structures from civil aviation and the defense system. The focus of the talks was the coordination of civil air traffic at Vasil Levski Airport - Sofia in the context of the ongoing NATO partnership mission, as well as ensuring the unhindered operation of the largest Bulgarian airport.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense Yordan Bozhilov, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Dimitar Nedyalkov, the management of the State Enterprise Air Traffic Control, the State Aviation Operator, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Administration, as well as representatives of the Border Police, Military Police, the concessionaire of the airport “the US Embassy in Bulgaria, the US Air Force and other involved institutions.

"Coordination and interaction between institutions are of key importance in ensuring the safety, security and normal functioning of civil aviation," stressed Minister Ismailov. He emphasized the need for military and civilian structures to work in full synchrony in planning and coordinating actions and activities.

The participants in the meeting reported that all current activities at the airport are being carried out without difficulties and without changes to civil flight schedules. It was agreed that active and timely communication with the public is essential to limit speculation and disinformation.

Minister Ismailov also emphasized the commitment of the caretaker cabinet to ensuring a stable and high-quality institutional environment for the conduct of fair and transparent elections. "Our responsibility is to ensure the normal functioning of all systems in the country. Let the results of the well-done work speak for us," he said. Korman Ismailov highly appreciated the work of all parties involved in the process.
