Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha validate a UN postage stamp

The seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and the 65th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in it were marked with the launch of a postal and philatelic edition. The seal of validation was placed by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and the Honorary President of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

Bulgaria is an active member of two of the most influential agencies at the UN - the International Telecommunication Union and the Universal Postal Union, stressed during the ceremony Ministers Rossen Jeliazkov and Ekaterina Zaharieva. "Postage stamps are a window to history and to what is happening around us," said Minister Jeliazkov. He pointed out that the jubilee edition recreates the message of the human as the highest value for the United Nations.

The validation of the postage stamp was part of a solemn ceremony with the participation of representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNICEF.
