Minister Rossen Jeliazkov discussed with carriers the Mobility Package I before the EP Session

The Minister of transport, information technology and communications Rossen Jeliazkov met with representatives of the hauliers industry. He presented up-to-date information related to the Mobility Package I before the forthcoming European Parliament Session on 27 March 2019.

Rossen Jeliazkov pointed out that, according to the published draft-programme on 20 March, a meeting of the Conference of Presidents will be held, within which the final draft agenda for the plenary session would be approved.

"The opinion of individual political families is divergent and it is therefore premature to draw conclusions on whether the Mobility Package I will be looked into before the end of the political life of this European Parliament", said Minister Rossen Jeliazkov. In his words, part of the MEPs are eager that the Package passes a vote in plenary at any cost, regardless of the consequences, and the other position, which is supported by our country, is for the examination of the texts by the next parliament. The Minister assured the hauliers that the Bulgarian side is taking all necessary steps and essentially actions to defend the position stated so far. Jeliazkov pointed out that the permanent dialogue between the Ministry of transport, information technology and communications and the representatives of the Bulgarian carriers continues.
