Ministry of Transport and Communications announces competitions for members of Management Authorities in 9 Public Enterprises

The Ministry of Transport and Communications announces competitions for the selection of members of the Management Authorities in 9 Public Enterprises. Competitions are announced for enterprises in which, at the moment, members of the management bodies have been appointed without a competition procedure.

The opening of the procedures is in connection with the implementation of the Action Plan with measures to address the subsequent commitments of the Republic of Bulgaria after joining the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II) and other related Policies. The Bulgarian Government is responsible for ensuring that the composition of the governing bodies of Public Enterprises is aligned with the nomination, selection and appointment procedures under the Law on Public Enterprises. It states that the composition of the Management and Control Authorities of Public Enterprises must be appointed after competitive procedures. The same commitment has been undertaken by the Bulgarian state as a milestone in the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, on the implementation of which payments under this financial instrument depend.

One member of the Board of Directors of Port of Burgas EAD will be elected by competition; two in "Bulgarian Maritime Qualification Center" EAD; five in "Holding BDZ" EAD, for three of them the procedure is carried out by the Minister of Transport and Communications, and for two – by the Public Enterprises and Control Agency. The same rules apply in the competition for five members of the Board of Directors of Bulgarian Post EAD.

The election of one member of the Board of Directors of Communication Construction and Reconstruction EAD has been announced. Three representatives of the State will be selected by competition in "Transport Construction and Reconstruction" EAD, "Sofia Airport" EAD and "Plovdiv Airport" EAD. For "Bulgaria Heli Med Service" EAD, a competition has been announced for three members of the Board of Directors, of which one independent member and two representatives of the State, and the competition is conducted by the Minister of Transport and Communications.
