The Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched the second competitive call for proposals to support intermodal operators, including the development of existing terminals. The scheme is financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Transport Connectivity Programme 2021 – 2027.
The total budget available under the call amounts to EUR 10 652 770. The minimum grant that may be requested per project is EUR 766 937, while the maximum grant is EUR 2 045 167.
The call is open to operators of rail, inland waterway, maritime, logistics and freight forwarding terminals located in the North-West, North Central, North-East, South-East and South Central Regions of Bulgaria.
The grants are intended to support the modernisation and expansion of existing terminals in the country’s less developed regions. Eligible activities include the purchase of intermodal transport equipment, the implementation of specialised IT solutions, and the construction or rehabilitation of railway and road infrastructure, as well as cargo handling facilities. The main objective is to strengthen the capacity of operators in these regions and improve coordination and connectivity between different modes of transport.
Project proposals must be submitted electronically by completing the application form available through the E-Application module of the ISUN Information System at: https://eumis2020.government.bg.
