Murat Turk appointed Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications

Eng. Murad Turk was appointed Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications by order of Acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov.

He has many years of experience in the management, control and implementation of projects and programs funded by the European Union. He worked at the National Railway Infrastructure Company, where he was responsible for the coordination and monitoring of key infrastructure projects.

His professional career also includes working in companies in the railway sector, engaged in the implementation of large-scale projects for modernization of the railway infrastructure. Within these projects Eng. Murad Turk has held positions as a civil engineer and procurement expert, with a focus on coordination, technical implementation and award procedures.

As a civil engineer, he has also been involved in the construction of one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the capital in recent years – the third line of the Sofia metro.

Eng. Murad Turk is a Master Civil Engineer from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy. He also holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Vienna as part of a double-degree programme. He was an intern graduate in the laboratory at the Roads Department of the Technical University of Vienna. Fluent in English, German and Turkish.
