National Tripartite Cooperation Council - branch council in Transport sector format resumed work

The National Tripartite Cooperation Council in the Transport Sector has resumed its work. The talks were initiated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov.

During the meeting, the measures taken so far in the sector were presented, which formed the basis for the dialogue with trade unions and employers' organizations.

Minister Jeliazkov emphasized that public authority is not only one of the three partners in the Council, but also an employer. Especially in the transport system, where the state has a serious state involvement in the activity and especially in the development and maintenance of the infrastructure.

"In the transport sector, the state as a major employer will do what is necessary, whether through the budget or through instruments such as subsidies and capital transfers, to guarantee the operation of the basic infrastructures and of the core operations. On the other hand, with regard to the other subsectors, the possibility of sufficient liquidity should be guaranteed", noted the Minister as well.

Representatives of trade unions and employers' organizations pointed out their views on the situation and made some proposals to be discussed at expert level at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. It is expected that the next meeting will outline specific solutions for the socio-economic situation in the sector.
