Today, teams from the Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”, in cooperation with the contractor BMF TUG Service, successfully completed the towing operation of the tanker “KAIROS”, assisted by three tugboats. At approximately 5.30 p.m., the vessel reached its final destination and was anchored at the designated location in Burgas Bay. At present, the tanker poses no risk to safety and will not obstruct navigation in the area.
Over the next two days, all expenses incurred by the state in relation to the tanker, from its entry into Bulgaria’s territorial waters to the present, will be calculated. The total amount will then be formally claimed from the shipowner. Only after settlement of these costs will the shipowner be able to arrange for the vessel’s departure from Bulgaria’s territorial waters.
