Pleven – Sevlievo – Burgas Bus Route Forms Part of the National Transport Scheme

The Pleven – Sevlievo – Burgas bus route operates year-round and forms part of Bulgaria's national transport scheme. Information on the route’s timetable and operation is available on the website of the Executive Agency “Automobile Administration”.

In response to publicly circulated claims by a transport operator from Sevlievo and a protest organised by local residents, the Ministry of Transport and Communications clarifies that the contracting authority for the bus route is Burgas Municipality, and that the contract for the provision of transport services remains in force until the end of 2026. Services on the route continue to operate in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.

At the same time, the Executive Agency “Automobile Administration” has received a letter from the Mayor of Sevlievo Municipality informing the Agency of a local transport operator’s intention to operate services between Sevlievo and Pomorie. In its reply, the Agency informed the Municipality that there is no legal obstacle to the establishment of a new bus route, provided that all statutory requirements and procedures are complied with.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications consistently supports the development of transport connectivity across the country and encourages the introduction of new transport services where these comply with the applicable legislation and serve the public interest.
