Ministries and agencies must submit proposals for new regulations by Wednesday
The preparation of regulatory changes related to the regulation of attraction activities in Bulgaria is underway. This was announced at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov and representatives of the Ministries of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Economy and Industry, Regional Development and Public Works, the Commission of Consumer Protection, the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Supervision, the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology and the Bulgarian Accreditation Service. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov also took part in the meeting.
"We will clearly define the safety requirements that the organizers of these activities must apply without introducing overregulation in the sector," Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadzhov said. He stressed that non-compliance would lead to severe penalties and the withdrawal of their rights to perform the specific service. "It is mandatory that anyone who provides these attractions in a commercial way will also provide insurance for consumers," he explained.
The regulatory framework will introduce the regimes under which operators will work, trainings and certification of instructors and drivers, safety and emergency preparedness standards, medical and insurance provision, etc.
The deadline for submitting the proposals to the Council of Ministers is next Wednesday.
