Derailment of DFT No 30592 between the Yana and Kremikovtsi stations on 26.07.2022
On July 26, 2022, at 12:30 p.m., DFT No 30592 departed from Plovdiv station to Iliantsi station. The train was serviced by “Rail Cargo Carrier – Bulgaria” EOOD. The train was running on the route Svilengrad - Plovdiv - Karlovo — Iliantsi, in a composition of 20 wagons loaded with container tanks, types R and S, 80 axles, 1566 tonnes, 387 meters, with train locomotive No 918111161116 and headed No 918111162593. The two locomotives operated on a multi-unit system (MUS) and the first locomotive carried out control with a locomotive crew, a first-person locomotive driver and a second-person locomotive driver.
At Pirdop station, the train arrived at 15:36 p.m. for a scheduled meeting with PT No 30113. From Pirdop station DFT No 30592 departed at 15:54 p.m. The train passed the station of Sofia without stopping at 16:50 p.m., passed the railway station Yana without stopping at 16:56 p.m., and in the railway interstation Yana - Kremikovtsi at km 19+ 041 at 17:01 p.m. derailed five wagons from the composition, causing a break and the train stopped at 17:01 p.m. Following the inspection, the locomotive crew carried out an inspection and found that the train was divided in two places (the wagons were in three parts) and had derailed five wagons at the end of the train, then informed the traffic manager on-duty at Yana station, and the train dispatcher of the railway line. Because of the derailment, no train personnel were injured. Damage was caused to the derailed five wagons, the rail track and facilities.
Train traffic between Yana and Kremikovtsi stations was interrupted from 17:20 p.m. on 26 July 2022 to 15:00 p.m. on 29 July 2022, it was restored at a speed of 25 km/h.
