COMPACT EC Horizon 2020 ICT project (2017 – 2020) focuses on various aspects of social media and convergence.
The objective of the project is to increase awareness of the latest technological discoveries among key stakeholders, to boost debate and to spread information and knowledge about technological developments and innovation in Europe.
COMPACT project is a complex undertaking and comprises four work packages. The aim of the first Work Package is to provide analysis of the development of research agendas and roadmaps within Convergence and Social Media with the aim to raise awareness about findings and research trends within EU. The main objective of the second work package is to identify and analyze the national and regional policies, regulatory frameworks and judicial approaches on social media and content convergence and assess them against the background of human rights principles and values. The aim of Work Package three is to provide information and analysis of pre-standardization initiatives and stakeholders´ coordination within social media and convergence in order to raise awareness and improve cooperation among stakeholders in this area. Stakeholder Seminars (symposia) represent an important element of COMPACT dissemination activities. Their aim is to make different stakeholders aware of current and future policy and regulatory frameworks and to enhance debate on topical issues of the digital society.
