Bulgaria and Türkiye will work together with the European Commission to develop the Middle Corridor between Asia and Europe. The Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye Abdulkadir Uraloğlu confirmed during a phone conversation.
“At a meeting last week with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, we expressed the shared opinion that the two countries are strategically important for the effective use of the Middle Corridor as an additional logistical connectivity,” Minister Peev said.
The two sides discussed road and rail alternatives for transporting goods in the region.
“Türkiye is Bulgaria’s strategic partner and largest neighbour, which is why it is important to maintain a consistent dialogue and coordination,” Minister Peev stated.
