The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has announced its yearly WSIS stocktaking initiative
The call to include new initiatives for 2016 to 2017 has launched. The MTITC invites its socio-economic partners to send their initiatives in the field of Information Society by 1 March 2017. They will be reflected in the WSIS Stocktaking report 2017 and presented during the WSIS Forum 2017.

A Bulgarian project received recognition for significant contributions made to the development of the Information Society
A project by the Southwestern University "Neophyte Rilski" - Blagoevgrad was awarded a prestigious prize in the "Cultural diversity, identity and linguistic diversity" at the WSIS Project Prizes awards 2015. Eighteen winners were announced by the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) - Mr. Houlin Zhao.- on May 26, 2015 at the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva.
WSIS Prizes 2017
WSIS Prizes is an international contest developed in response to requests from WSIS stakeholders to create an effective mechanism to evaluate and recognize individuals, governments, civil society, local, regional and international agencies, research institutions and private sector companies for outstanding success in implementing development-oriented strategies that leverage the power of ICTs. The WSIS Prizes contest is an integral part of the WSIS stocktaking process.
