The passenger rail connection between Bulgaria and Ukraine through Romania is resumed. This was agreed during a meeting between Minister of Transport and Communications Korman Ismayilov and Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba in Kiev. Minister Ismailov is part of a government delegation in Ukraine led by Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov.

The Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Murad Türk, held a series of working meetings with the academic leadership of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), the "Todor Kableshkov" University of Transport, and the "Lyuben Karavelov" University of Civil Engineering.

The Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Murad Türk, launched the construction of a new traction substation in the area of Ihtiman. The facility is part of the large-scale project for the modernization of the Sofia–Plovdiv railway line.

The Deputy Transport Minister emphasized that the construction of the facility will contribute to more reliable trains, fewer delays, and better service for the people. "With this, we are taking another real step towards a modern railway that meets the expectations of citizens and businesses," Deputy Minister Türk stated.

A series of postage stamps depicts four of the most significant surviving artifacts from Thracian treasures. The issue was released for use by the Minister of Transport and Communications Korman Ismailov, the Director of the National Archaeological Museum Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristo Popov, and the project’s artist Tahsin Ahmed.

"I am working hard to ensure that our government provides the necessary funds for the completion of the last 2.4 km of the railway link with the Republic of North Macedonia." This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bulgaria, H.E. Nataša Bergel. According to him, this is the only missing section of the railway line on Bulgarian territory that will ensure rail connectivity between Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

The strengthening of financial discipline and the effective expenditure of public funds were the main focus during a meeting between the Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, and the Austrian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country, H.E. Andrea Ikić-Böhm.

Minister Ismailov emphasized that transparency and accountability are key factors for increasing trust and attracting more foreign investors, especially in sectors of high public importance such as transport infrastructure, telecommunications, and critical systems.

The delivery of the new Skoda trains is one of the most large-scale investments in rolling stock in recent decades – amounting to 326.7 million euros. "With this, we aim to restore the trust of Bulgarian citizens and all guests of our country in the railway," said the Minister of Transport and Communications Korman Ismailov during the presentation of the first new electric multiple unit Skoda for Bulgaria.

With the opening of the new road and pedestrian overpass in Kermen, a safer and better-organized transport environment is created for the residents of the town and for all those passing through the area. The new facilities eliminate the risky crossing of the railway line at grade and provide a significantly higher level of safety for both road traffic and pedestrians. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Murad Turk, during the official opening ceremony of a new road and pedestrian overpass in the town of Kermen.

The development of strategic transport corridors and progress in the construction and modernization of railway infrastructure were among the main topics of conversation between the Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Sofia, H. Martin McDowell.
The restoration of the railway connection between Bulgaria and Ukraine opens new opportunities for freight transport and for the expansion of logistical routes in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The Executive Agency “Road Transport Administration” has begun roadside inspections using new specialised devices (antennas) for the remote detection of tachograph violations. At present, the Agency has seven antennas that enable the identification of potential violations from a distance without stopping every truck or bus. Once a signal is received from the antenna, inspectors carry out a full inspection of the respective vehicle.

Employees of BDZ – Passenger Services EOOD, the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC), Bulgarian Posts EAD, and urban public transport systems will receive a pay increase.

Financing for transport infrastructure should remain among the priorities in the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union. This shared view was expressed during a meeting between the Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, and Anna Janiszewska-Fronczek, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Poland.

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, has accepted the resignation submitted by the Director General of the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC), Aleksandar Vetskov. By order of the Minister issued today, he has been relieved of his duties as Director General and as a member of the Management Board of the company

By the same order, the current member of the Management Board, Yordan Varbanov, has been appointed Director General. He will hold the position until the completion of a competitive selection procedure.
