The political goal of the Government is for Bulgaria to achieve full membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) by the end of 2026.

This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, Grozdan Karadjov, during the forum “Partnership for Development: The State and Business in Bulgaria’s Accession Process to the OECD,” organised by the British – Bulgarian Business Association. The event brought together representatives of more than 70 companies, institutions, and international organisations.

The first postage stamp for 2026 will be dedicated to Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov signed the thematic philatelic plan for the next year.

The Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Lyuben Nanov, together with the Deputy Minister of Energy Georgi Samandov, the Vice-Rector of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) Assoc. Prof. Maria Vodenicharova, and the Head of the "Economics of Transport and Energy" department Prof. Hristina Nikolova, validated a postage stamp on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the specialty's establishment.

The Euro is not just a new currency – it is a new language of trust that Bulgaria is starting to speak alongside its partners from the European Union. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov at the opening of an information event in Ruse, part of the national campaign for the introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria.

A postage stamp is a small painting that can easily cross state borders and convey our message. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov said during the validation of a postage stamp commemorating 100th anniversary of the birth of Georgi Kaloyanchev. He put a stamp for the launch of the edition together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev and the representative of the Board of Directors of Bulgarian Posts EAD Stanislav Dochev.

“You, the students, are the builders, the creators of Bulgaria's future! Today you enter the auditoriums with dreams, but tomorrow you will leave them as engineers, experts, professionals and leaders. ” With these words, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov addressed the students at the opening ceremony of the academic year at the University of Telecommunications and Post.

The choice of the state to exchange BGN for EUR was very logical, but in 2,230 settlements where there are no financial institutions, the offices of the Bulgarian Post will become banks for the people there. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov said at the opening of the information campaign for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria, which took place today in Burgas.

Digital transformation must be inclusive and accessible to all – regardless of geographical location, social status, or age group. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Dimitar Nedyalkov, during the Forum of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva. He emphasised that, for Bulgaria, it is of strategic importance that more people and businesses have the opportunity to actively participate in the global digital economy and benefit from its potential. 

The Ministry of Transport and Communications announces the launch of the campaign for collecting proposals for themes of postage stamps to be issued in 2026. Submissions will be accepted until 31 August 2025. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov took part today in the National Roundtable on “Cybersecurity in the Defence of People, Education, and Society,” held in Sofia. The event was organized by the Academy of the Ministry of Interior and the University of Security and Economics – Plovdiv, in partnership with the Council of University Rectors.

We will no longer speak of digital nomadism, but of the opportunities that will arise not only to  for residents of sparsely populated areas, but also for future businesses that will develop their potential there. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during the signing ceremony of six contracts worth over BGN 443 million for the construction of digital networks across the country. "This is an significant step towards the digital transition. I would even call it a digital campaign into underpopulated areas - thosewith no market potential," the Prime Minister noted.

Bulgaria is reviewing the European Commission's proposals under the Vehicle Technical Roadworthiness Package primarily through the lens of road safety and expects this focus to be maintained in the future. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, Grozdan Karadjov, during a meeting of the EU Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council, held in Luxembourg. 

Within 14 months, all data on digital and transport infrastructure will be integrated into a single platform. It will be developed by upgrading the existing Single Information Point.

Eight proposals have been submitted under the procedure for the large-scale deployment of digital infrastructure, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). The total value of the project is BGN 468,857,652, and the deadline for submitting bids expired on Friday. 

The preparation of "Bulgarian Posts" employees for their social role in the exchange of levs into euros, as well as the possibilities for digital training of the staff at the state-owned company, were discussed today during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, Grozdan Karadjov, and the President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB), Plamen Dimitrov. Plans for the future logistics are already being coordinated with the Bulgarian National Bank.

The project will improve connectivity in 140 municipalities and 16 border crossings

Nearly half a billion BGN will be invested in 5G connectivity by the middle of next year. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov at a forum of “The Economist” magazine dedicated to the development of the Bulgarian economy.

A railway reform is needed, albeit very late, to prevent more incidents like the one that happened yesterday. This is what Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov said when taking over the government from the outgoing minister Krasimira Stoyanova.

He stressed that he has been connected with the sector for years and has a deep knowledge of the processes. ‘This is the second time I have become part of the team of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and some of my best years have been spent there,’ the new minister said.

Four projects with Bulgarian participants will be funded by the Connecting Europe Facility with a total of 12 million euros. "For the team of the Ministry of Transport and Communications as the national coordinator of the digital sector of the Mechanism, it is important that all four projects with which our organizations applied won funding," said Minister Krasimira Stoyanova. 

The state does a lot for Bulgarian Post, but now the management is on the move. This was said by the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova at a meeting with representatives of two of the trade unions in the company - "Podkrepa" and "Protection", at their request.

The decision is decisive for the future development of the company and for guaranteeing postal services in hard-to-reach and sparsely populated areas
