The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Andreana Atanasova, the Speaker of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria Temirtai Izbastin validated an edition dedicated to the friendship between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. It consists of two postage stamps. The first depicts the philosopher, mathematician, musician and astronomer Abu Nasr Al-Farabi. He was born 1150 years ago on the territory of today's Kazakhstan.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova and the founder of Academic Circus ”Balkanski”, Alexander Balkanski launched in use a postal-philatelic edition. It is dedicated to the 200-year professional tradition of Balkanski Family.

On the World Post Day, we do present an edition, dedicated to the most widely accepted art, said during the ceremony the Deputy Minister Atanasova.

A postcard with a collector's circulation of 511 pieces was validated today on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Children's Choir of the Bulgarian National Radio. The seal for putting into use was put by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Andreana Atanasova and the chief conductor of the children's radio choir Venetsiya Karamanova.

Bulgarian projects for digital transition under the European Mechanism for Recovery and Sustainability will be prepared in synergy between the state and business. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at a meeting on his initiative with representatives of the State Agency for Electronic Government, the Communications Regulation Commission and mobile operators.

A postage stamp marked the 170th anniversary of the Irish journalist James Boucher’s birth. The validation seal was put by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland HE Michael Forbes and the Executive Director of Bulgarian Posts Deyan Daneshki.  

“I call on students not to underestimate the development of the transport as a sector. In the coming decades digitalization and decarbonisation, as key EU policies, will focus mainly on transport connectivity. On the other hand, information technology is part of our way of life regardless of whether we wish it so brightly or not”, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov during the opening ceremony of the 100th anniversary academic year of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

Ms. Andreana Atanasova, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications validates a postage stamp on the occasion of the First Bulgarian coordination of Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea.

The postage stamp will be sent to the governments of Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, as well as to the European Commission.

"With this postage stamp we will promote Bulgaria's active role in the field of international cooperation, especially with regard to the Black Sea region,"- Deputy Minister Atanasova said during the ceremony.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Andreana Atanasova, the Director of the National Center for Polar Research Prof. Hristo Pimpirev and the Executive Director of Bulgarian Posts EAD Deyan Daneshki validated the postal and philatelic edition. The two-brand series is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica and 50 years of Bulgarian research on the Ice Continent.

The seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and the 65th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in it were marked with the launch of a postal and philatelic edition. The seal of validation was placed by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and the Honorary President of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

The sectoral financial instruments - the Digital  Agenda for Europe and the Connecting Europe Facility - will strengthen the digital sovereignty of the European Union. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov during a videoconference meeting of the Ministers of Telecommunications. He added that the situation with COVID-19 raised questions about Europe's dependence on third countries in areas or technologies critical to the economy, development and security.

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov presented the measures taken in the transport sector in connection with the state of emergency.

Road transport

One hundred and fifty years since the issue of the Sultan's Firman for the recognition of the independent Bulgarian Church, under the name Bulgarian Exarchy, has been commemorated with the validation of a postage stamp. The seal of validation was affixed by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova and the Secretary General of the Holy Synod, Bishop Gerasim.

Bulgaria is hosting for the fourth time the Regional Cybersecurity Forum for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, organized by the International Telecommunications Union.

This is a  recognition of our country's role both in the activities of the international institution and in regional cybersecurity, said Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova at the opening of the event.

The forthcoming amendments to the Electronic Communications Act, which introduce the rules of the European Code for Electronic Communications in the national legislation, have been presented to the telecommunications operators.

The proposed texts encourage enterprises to invest in new infrastructure for the deployment of very high capacity networks (download speeds of at least 100 Mbps), including in more remote areas. The changes are aimed at providing regulatory predictability for the provision of radio spectrum for wireless broadband.

The National Assembly adopted some of the laws so important for the Transport, Information Technology and Communications Sectors that allow for better regulation of public relations and better law enforcement. This was stated by Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov during a report on the activities of MTITC before the beginning of the Council of Ministers meeting today.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova and Chinese Ambassador Dong Xiaojun validated a post stamp for the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China.

The twenty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the Sovereign Order of Malta was marked by the launch of a postage stamp. The seal of validation was affixed by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova and Secretary General for Foreign Policy of the Sovereign Maltese Order Stefano Ronca in the presence of President Rumen Radev and Grand Master Fra Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetlo.

The first postal and philatelic edition dedicated to diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Japan has been validated today. The lounch seal was put by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs George Georgiev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Bulgaria Masato Watanabe and the Executive Director of Bulgarian Post Deyan Duneshki .

Bulgaria supports the market development of the cloud service providers in the EU. This was stated by Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at the Council of Ministers meeting on Telecommunications in Brussels. One of the topics today was "The European Union as a centre for ethical use of data".

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) is a strategic partner in a technology and financial support initiative for startup companies that develop artificial intelligence based applications. This was announced today by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova at the conference "Artificial Intelligence and I" in Sofia Tech Park. The event was organized by the Digital National Coalition, SAS Institute, Deloitte and Vivacom.
