International Organisation of Space Communications INTERSPUTNIK

INTERSPUTNIK International Organisation of Space Communications was established in 1971 by the governments of nine states, including Bulgaria. Nowadays the system is operated on commercial basis, involving the governments of 25 countries.
The organization has 18 satellites on geostationary orbit capable of serving the territory of South America, the Far East, Asia and Africa. About 40 transponders with a capacity of 36 MHz each are used in Europe.

The Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) was established in 1991 as a regional organization of the former Soviet republics, with the main task of coordinating the activities of the relevant administrations in the field of communications.
Bulgaria participates in the organization as observer, together with the communications administrations of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, as well as the Pakistan Postal Corporation, Deutsche Telekom, Telekom Denmark, etc.

The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) is the European organization for communications, which is also a regional forum for the European Union in this field. The European Commission participates in CEPT in an advisory capacity.

The Republic of Bulgaria has been a member of the SEPT since 1990 when it joined the CEPT Agreement. Now CEPT has 48 members among the European postal and telecommunications administrations.
