Aspiring to continue to be an important player on the global market, the European Union identifies the development of a digital single market as a top priority. Therefore, one of the main tasks of the Bulgarian Presidency is to make it a source of growth and competitiveness, stated the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during a meeting with the management of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union.

With the implementation of new systems for signaling and telecommunications in all renovated railway lines in the country, we reach European levels of safety in the railway transport. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev while traveling with speed train in the section Plovdiv - Septemvri. During the event a demonstration of the functionalities of the new signaling and telecommunications systems in the direction Septemvri - Plovdiv was made.

It is part of the project on the rehabilitation of the whole railway line from Plovdiv to Bourgas, for which 800 million BGN have been provided by OP on “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020.

We have invested 70 mil. BGN for the rehabilitation of the 26 km long railway section from Skutare to Orizovo, stated Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev during the ground breaking ceremony of the section. In his words, construction activities should finish by the beginning of 2019 and hence the trains could travel at speed between 130 and 160 km/h. He said that Belozem railway station will be also modernized within a year and a half.
