The oil spill in the region of Sozopol is under control, there is no danger neither for environment, nor for the tourists, stated the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski, and the Minister of Environment and Waters, Nino Dimov, at a briefing following a meeting of Burgas Regional Administration Operational Team.

Three key railway stations will be modernized with funds under Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 Operational Program (OPTTI). The project for reconstruction of the stations Poduyane, Iskar and Kazitchene was approved at the total amount of 7.4 million leva, 6.6 million of them being grants.

The waiting areas and adjacent platforms will be refurbished, the construction state of buildings will be improved, energy efficiency systems, as well as modern information and announcement equipment, will be deployed, and green areas will be rehabilitated.

The inspectors of the Executive Agency “Automobile Administration” suspended the registrations of 31 vehicles for unregulated transportation of passengers for fee in the region of Varna and Burgas.

The campaign is carried out jointly with the authorities of the Ministry of Interior and the National Revenue Agency. The teams inspect companies that organize tours with off-road vehicles.

Information Services Jsc ended the first half of 2018 with revenues of BGN 9.8 million and profitability of 7%. The increase over the targets set in the business plan for 2018 is over 2 times for profit and 2% for revenue.

The company accounted for 6% higher labor efficiency (monthly work per employee) compared to the planned for the period.

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski awarded Plovdiv Airport officials Georgi Tashev and Kiril Ivanov for the quick response when taking part in the rescue operation of the crew of the military helicopter Mi-17, which crashed on 11 June 2018 in the region of the Plovdiv airport. Hristo Shrionov, the Plovdiv Airport's Executive Director, was also honored for the professionalism and excellent organization in the event of the incident.

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski discussed with representatives of the coach industry Mobility Package II of the European Commission. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anguel Popov, MEP Andrey Novakov, members of the National Assembly.

With regard to issues related to additional information on the parameters of the procedure to grant a concession of Sofia Airport, we would like to inform you that in order to ensure equal access of all candidates for participation in the procedure and under the provisions of Directive 2014/23/EU on the award of concession contracts and Regulation (EU) 2015/1986 establishing standard forms for the publication of notices in the field of public procurement, the notice of the concession parameters will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

A Roadmap on reduction of roaming tariffs between Bulgaria and Macedonia will be prepared at a joint meeting of the ministries of both countries, the regulators and the mobile operators. This was agreed today at a meeting of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and the Macedonian Minister of Information Society and Administration Damyan Manchevski. Minister Manchevski proposed Skopje to host the talks in the coming weeks.

An initiative for a cross-border Balkan corridor that will provide testing of connected and automated cars to Western Europe was launched during the first Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski, together with his Greek counterpart on Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media Nikos Pappas and the Serbian State Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic, signed a letter of intent on cooperation in the field of connected and automated driving.

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications presented key transport projects that need financing before the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, at today’s conference on Bulgaria’s perspectives for development, organized by EBRD. Systematic appeal of tender procedures for railway projects incurs risks for Operational Program Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020, announced Galina Vassileva, Head of the Program managing authority, at the ninth session of OPTTI Monitoring Committee, 29-30 May, in the town of Pravets. She further added that there is an urgent need to amend the Public Procurement Act or the state runs the risk of losing significant resources under EU funds by 2020.

Publishing procurement data allows for better control when utilizing public resources and provided new business opportunities, stated the Deputy minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, at the opening of the conference Superpowers of procurement data - Public procurement data for EU businesses and policies. The event took place in Brussels and was organized within the framework of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU.

Deployment of hydrogen mobility in electric transport is among the priorities of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, announced Deputy Minister Anguel Popov at the opening of the Hydrogen Summit in Sofia. In his words, the matter relates to the update of EU Directive No 94 on deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure.
