The Executive Director of EA "Maritime Administration", Cap. Zhivko Petrov and the Director General of the Romanian Naval Authority, Mihai Andrei signed an Agreement on the inland waterway vessels inspections on the common Bulgarian-Romanian stretch of the Danube River. The event was held today in Ruse during a formal meeting between the two administrations.

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev honored the award-winner of the "IT Project of the Year" competition, "Transport and Logistics" category. The event is organized for the fourteenth consequtive year by ICT media and the newspaper of Computerworld.

SE “Port Infrastructure” is the winner in the category for 2017 with the “Design and Implementation of Integrated Information System (IIS) for planning and management of resources in Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company” project.

In an online discussion with the European Commission, the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) raised 25 questions about the participation of Bulgarian municipalities in the free wireless WiFi4EU initiative.

The Commission experts will summarize the topics and publish the answers on the FAQ page. MTITC actively disseminates information on the initiative to parties concerned, organizes information events and maintains uninterrupted contact with municipalities.

The Minister of Transport, information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski ordered an internal audit at Holding BDZ EAD, BDZ-Cargo and BDZ-Passenger Services following recent media publications. Reporting overtime and controlling working hours of employees at Holding BDZ, BDZ-Passenger Services and BDZ-Cargo are subject to the inspection.

The internal Audit Unit to MTITC will conduct the audit.

Bulgaria takes over the Presidency of the Council of the EU in a period with very intensive digital agenda. Bulgaria will propose a 5th Generation High-Speed ​​Internet Balkan corridor, which may be parallel to the current road links that are under construction between the countries in the region, announced the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski at a meeting today in Sofia with Roberto Viola, Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission.

Thanks to the efforts of the institutions in Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, the first regular airline between the two countries is already a fact. The 170th anniversary of Hristo Botev's birth was marked today by the validation of a postage stamp. By special flight was launched the direct line Sofia-Odessa. Bulgaria was one of the first countries in Europe to legislate on the issue of governing Internet names and addresses in the interests of consumers, announced Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski at a conference on dialogue between Bulgaria and the International Organization for Internet Names and Numbers (ICANN).

The Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and the Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić signed a Memorandum on the reduction of international roaming tariffs between the two countries. The document was endorsed in the presence of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose, within the framework of the four-state co-operation council held today in Belgrade.

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) has expressed support for the involvement of more settlements, regardless of their size, into the Wi-Fi free access initiative WiFi4EU. Thus, over 5000 Bulgarian towns and villages with no free access to a public Internet network, will be able to apply for funding to the European Commission.

The priorities and the draft program of the Bulgarian Presidency in the transport sector were presented to the transport ministers of the European Union during the EU Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council - format „Transport”, which was held yesterday in Brussels, at which Ivaylo Moskovski, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, took over the presidency of the sector from Estonia.
