Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev awarded the winner in the category "Railway Infrastructure". The first prize in the category was for the project "Modernization of the railway section Septemvri-Plovdiv, part of the Trans-European Railway Infrastructure, Position 3: Stamboliiski-Plovdiv". The initiative “Infrastructure Bulgaria Awards 2018” was organized by the City Media Group.

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski validated two postage stamps in a souvenir sheet "140 Years of the Russian-Turkish Liberation War". This is the fourth joint post-philatelic product between Bulgaria and Russia, the Deputy Minister said during the ceremony. According to him, the theme of the Russian-Turkish war is one of the most popular in the Bulgarian philately . It began in the early 20th century.

 

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski has ordered an overall audit of the public procurement contract with the following subject: "Implementation of planned technical support and non-scheduled technical maintenance of electric locomotives series 46200 and electric locomotives 44001 and 44002, owned by BDZ-Passenger Transports Ltd. for a three-year period”.

The subway is a very good example of an intermodal project and its implementation has been very successful, said the minister of Transport, information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during today’s inspection of the works at Medicine Academy station. He pointed out that over half of the first stage of the construction of the third line (from Little City Theatre 'Off the Channel' to Gorna Banya residential area) has already been completed and by the end of 2019, 43 subway stations and almost 48 km of lines will be constructed.

The Executive Director of Executive Agency “Automobile Administration”, Krasimir Srebrov attends the World Forum for Vehicle Regulation Harmonization. The event takes place in Geneva, Switzerland from 13 to 16 March, 2018. The first regular airline between Sofia and Ljubljana will be open within a few months. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev during the first aviation event of the program of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Executive Director of EA "Maritime Administration", Cap. Zhivko Petrov and the Director General of the Romanian Naval Authority, Mihai Andrei signed an Agreement on the inland waterway vessels inspections on the common Bulgarian-Romanian stretch of the Danube River. The event was held today in Ruse during a formal meeting between the two administrations.

The event is organized for the fourteenth consequtive year by ICT media and the newspaper of Computerworld.

SE “Port Infrastructure” is the winner in the category for 2017 with the “Design and Implementation of Integrated Information System (IIS) for planning and management of resources in Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company” project.

The “Sofia - European Capital of Sport” postage stamp was validated today by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski, the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova and the President of the Sofia municipal council Elen Gerdjikov. The event took place at the Regional Museum of History in Sofia in the presence of the Executive Director of "Bulgarian Posts" EAD Deyan Duneshki, famous names in Bulgarian sports, media and philatelists.

The Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and the Macedonian Minister of Transport and Communications Goran Sugareski held a working meeting today in Sofia. The reason for the talks was the commitment of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to the implementation of the main priority in the program of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on the Connectivity of the Western Balkans.

EA "Road Transport Administration" and the bodies of the Ministry of Interior compiled nearly 150 acts from the beginning of the year. The main purpose of the operation is to limit violations and unregulated passenger transport services in the area of Sofia Airport.

So far 830 specialized inspections have been carried out. One of the sanctioned drivers has carried out transportation of passengers in return for payment without possessing a license for that activity. He has been sanctioned with a compulsory administrative measure and pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.

Experts from EA "Maritime Administration" reported on the progress of the project "Integrated Bulgarian Maritime Surveillance" (InBulMarS). The event was attended by representatives of the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) of the European Commission and of the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission, the participants and the project observers.

In an online discussion with the European Commission, the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) raised 25 questions about the participation of Bulgarian municipalities in the free wireless WiFi4EU initiative.

The Commission experts will summarize the topics and publish the answers on the FAQ page. MTITC actively disseminates information on the initiative to parties concerned, organizes information events and maintains uninterrupted contact with municipalities.

The European Commission approved the financing of the project for modernization of the railway line Elin Pelin - Kostenetz that amounts to 451 million Euros. Over 51 km of railways and 5 railway stations along the line will be modernized through the allocated funds. All same-level crossings of railway transport with road traffic and passengers are to be eliminated.
